Restoration Fieldwork | 5 hr shifts
The Elk River Alliance Cottonwood Restoration Program aims to plant native species on shorelines to stablise the river bank and restore fish and wildlife habitat. Join us in planting plants and restoring the ecosystem!

Education and Outreach | 5 hr shifts
The Elk Valley community has a great interest in healthy streams, and we are here to provide reliable, science-based information. Contribute to the effort of a more science-conscious Elk Valley community!

Outreach volunteers assist in operating interpretive kiosk stalls at Sunday Markets (Sunday’s 9:30AM-2:30PM), Wednesday Socials (Wednesday’s, 5-9 PM), and around River Access locations. Tasks include engaging community members and tourists, providing educational content, promoting ERA activities, and collecting donations and memberships. An information package, training, and materials will be provided.
Monitoring Fieldwork | 8 hr shifts
ERA does high-quality assessments of streams within the watershed. If you are looking for fieldwork experience, this is the role for you!

Monitoring fieldwork consist of long days outdoors, and requires physical activity. We collect benthic invertebrates, take water samples, and install and maintain hydrometric stations. This is a high-level volunteer position and previous fieldwork experience is considered a strong asset.
