Restoration Work

Our restoration work aims to naturalize ecosystems that have been impacted by human activity. This involves projects like wetland construction on a previous gravel site, planting native plants, and removing invasive species. This work would not be possible without our dedicated and passionate volunteers.

HOSMER WETLAND RESTORATION

In 2017 the Hosmer gravel pit was acquired by Nature Conservancy Canada. Since then, the NCC and ERA have collaborated to turn this land from a worksite into a naturalized wetland. Many volunteers have dedicated their time and energy to planting native and wetland species, building herbivore exclusion fencing, and removing invasive weeds. This radical transformation would not be possible without the work of ERA volunteers. Click here if you are interested in volunteering for ERA.
