LOOKING FOR FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE?

WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU!

On May 26th we are offering a FREE hydrometric monitoring course led by a Ministry of Environment hydrometric specialist. If you are considering a career in the environmental sector, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and “test the waters”.

All we ask for in return is that you commit two days to volunteering with our ecologist. Volunteers will help with hydrometric station installation, river discharge measurements, and general fieldwork activities.

BENEFITS TO YOU

  • Gain fieldwork experience (letters of recommendation can be requested after 3 volunteer days)
  • Learn how to take hydrometric measurements to industry and BC Gov standards
  • Learn more about how hydrology influences the Elk River environment
  • Basic swiftwater safety awareness
