We’re Trucked

As you probably know, the Elk River Alliance restores ecosystems and monitors water quality and quantity. So far, we’ve relied on employee vehicles to conduct our fieldwork.

In 2024, ERA monitored 11 sites for water quality, 5 sites for water quantity, and 19 sites for temperature. We planted 8000+ trees and installed 1.5 km of fencing. To do this work we travel along resource roads, haul trailers, and drive through difficult terrain. Last year our employees put over 15,000 km on their personal vehicles. Continuing to use personal vehicles is no longer feasible.

ABOUT THE ELK RIVER ALLIANCE

Since 2010, the Elk River Alliance has stewarded the Elk River through streamside restoration, monitoring of water quality, and education and outreach of the Elk Valley community. We are a registered not-for-profit charity that relies on community support to continue our operations. Click here to read the 2023 Annual Report
